Molly Nourmand
About Molly Nourmand:
Molly Nourmand, LMFT is a psychotherapist, yogini, and mother. Her multilayered lens brings healing, integration, and transformation to the lives of women through therapy and retreats. Her approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Theory, and informed by over a decade of teaching yoga and meditation, as well as an ongoing exploration of Somatic Experiencing and Buddhism. She received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her Master’s thesis titled, The Mythology and the Shadow of the Pill, examined the effects of hormonal birth control on women’s mood and libido.
Her early career as psychotherapist was working at different drug and alcohol treatment centers. She has experience as both a family and primary therapist—most recently Promises Treatment Center. There she was the Director of the monthly Family Intensive Program, which brought together clients and their families from all over the world.
Molly’s initiation into motherhood birthed a new career path for her. Due to her own experience with depression after becoming a mother, she felt called to create Life After Birth® in 2017–individual, couples and group therapy to hold women through their initiation of becoming mothers. She completed the Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy training with Postpartum Support International, and has translated her mission into a specialty in her practice. After several years of helping women through the metamorphosis of motherhood, she has expanded her offerings to grow the Life After Birth® community even larger.
